Guild stein
Adam Rickh, Krásno (Schönfeld), Bohemia, 1728
Cast pewter with engraved decoration. Created for the cobblers’ guild of Bečov (Petschau), the cylindrical Baroque stein rests on a relatively high convex base. The lid and spherical thumblift are attached to the S-shaped ribbon handle. On the body, an engraved laurel wreath encircles a six-line engraved inscription: EINES / EHRSAMEN HANDWERCK / DER SCHUCH / MACHER / 1728. Engraved outside the wreath near the base: VON PETSCHAU.
